The Story of Luna
Luna was (and forever will be) my cat.
She was my best friend, my source of comfort, my daily dose of entertainment, and a treasured part of my life.
Don’t get me wrong – she was also extremely high maintenance.
She caused countless sleepless nights when demanding attention and regularly brought home “gifts” (yes, mice – dead or alive).
Despite the frustration, I loved her deeply.
No amount of “naughty” behaviour ever affected the unconditional love I felt for her.
When I lost Luna, I experienced first-hand the depth of grief that can follow the loss of a beloved pet.
Friends and family often mean well, but not everyone understands the unique bond we share with our animals.
Like many people, I struggled with my grief. Everywhere I looked, I saw her. But she wasn’t there.
Shortly after Luna passed, someone close to me suggested I create a deck to help me navigate my grief.
The moment he said it, I knew.
I couldn’t be the only person experiencing this kind of loss.
Having already created the Leopard Wisdom Deck, I knew exactly how to bring the idea to life.
The Luna Deck was born from that conversation.
What began as a personal companion through my grief eventually became a source of comfort and support for others navigating the same loss.
Because grief is not something to be ashamed of.
It is not a sign of weakness.
It is a reflection of love.
